Fake Love
In masquerade balls of life, many pretend, Donning masks of affection, till the end. Few hearts beat true, with genuine care, While others feign love, with calculated snare. What kind of love lacks forgiveness' gentle hand? A love that withholds pardon, is but a barren land. What love is that, which stabs in secret night? A love that betrays trust, and takes flight. Love is forgiveness, love must be true, A radiant beam, shining from within, anew. True love's essence, pure and unadulterated, Unblemished by deceit, or manipulated. Not diluted by ulterior motives' stain, True love's waters flow, from a heart unstained. It's not a game of power, or selfish gain, But selfless devotion, that loves in vain. Fake love's a mirage, a fleeting illusion, A shallow promise, lacking substance and conclusion. It's a whispered lie, a hidden agenda, A love that's conditional, and forever amendable. But true love's a flame, that burns bright and bold, A guiding light, through life's uncertain fold. It's a safe haven, where hearts can reside, A sanctuary, where love abides. True love sees beyond, the external guise, And loves the soul, with all its flaws and sighs. It's a love that heals, that mends and restore.
