Opened Window I opened the window and the sky looked dull Knowing it might rain, and then it did I sat, reminiscing about nature All that our Maker created It oozes joy, purpose, and countless benefits As a lover of nature I know God is mighty and good Yet we misuse all He has given The poem Binsey Poplars came to mind How all the poplar trees were destroyed I closed the window And turned to worship the Source of light Feeling His presence so near We enjoy what He created Yet often forget to offer gratitude For the blessings, the little things I sang a hymn in my quiet place Pouring out my heart In the end it is God who stays He never leaves I thought I could handle it all But no, it doesn’t work that way He knows I would come Even when hope feels lost And I sit in silence, seemingly alone I will never grow tired Of meeting Him In my secret place By Faith
