Faith and Freedom
The heart of Nigeria, a land of diverse beliefs, Religion shapes power, politics, and societal feats. Faith and freedom clash in the modern day, As traditions and systems hold sway. Silence on injustice, a deafening sound, As toxic traditions keep their sacred ground. God, guilt, gender, and justice intertwined, In a web of beliefs, often unkind. The system we create, a reflection of our souls, In the midst of chaos, determination unfolds. Through the trials and tribulations we face, We find strength in our faith, a saving grace. From the mosques to the churches, the temples to the shrines, Religion guides our paths, in these troubled times. But where is the voice of the oppressed and the weak? In the face of injustice, do we dare to speak? Let us break free from the chains of the past, And forge a new future, one that will last. Where love and compassion reign supreme, And justice is not just a distant dream. So let us rise up, with determination in our hearts, To challenge the systems that tear us apart. For in the end, it is our actions that define, The society we create, a legacy divine.
