Failure
I want to set myself on fire I want to paint the wall red I don't want to live forever I just want this shit to end It's like a broken record Another day, another test Another sleepless night Another moment without rest I can't get out, jailed by myself Stuck in a cycle of destruction And yet the only things I can't break Are the prison walls of my own construction I'm not good at what I like I'm not good at what I do The only thing I'm good at Is asking the mirror "who the fuck are you?" I'm no good at answering I'm no good with words Just another black sheep Who has long lost his herd I don't want your pity And I don't want sympathy I don't even want to ditch this city I just want to change I can read, I can write Years ago that would be enough But in a world of ones and zeroes It isn't up to snuff There is no progress without struggle Or so I have been told I just hope the progress comes Before I get too old So I practice, so I study, so I learn, and so I grow I just wish all this progress didn't come so slow
