Fae's Deception
In twilight's hush, where shadows play, To the woods, to the bee's sweet sway, We wandered, lost, in mystic delight, To the Firefly trees, where magic takes flight. Out came the fairies, dancing free, For you and for me, a whimsical spree, They sang a song, a fairy light song, The woods grew calm, their secrets strong. Fairy, fairy, look at me, Can I try and join the Firefly tree? I reached out a hand, with wonder and glee, But from the corner, a trumpet man blew free. "Don't fall for that fairy's tale!" He sprang with might, his horn did hail, To cover us from her radiant light, For this fairy was not for you or me, it seemed tonight. Her glow grew dim, her song did fade, The trumpet's blast, our senses displayed, We stumbled back, to mortal ground, The fairy's charm, no longer bound. The woods grew dark, the fireflies did sleep, The trumpet man's warning, we did keep, For in the woods, not all is as it seems, And some fairies' tales, are just clever dreams.
