Fading Light
The old bell echoed, lost in swirling mist Across the windswept plain Like forgotten memories, long lost lores Foreshadowing our future By covering up the past The vast darkness of the Labyrinth Dimly lit by the incandescent glow of a candle Which seems to keep shadows at bay For only a moment in time The vast halls keep the truth hidden As the talisman paints elaborate lies The wind howls like a moaning spirit Through the labyrinths expansive halls As if to say, "All is lost, all hope is gone" The birds are silent Their singing is no more As the flowers bloom but than quickly wilt and die We are only left to ponder Never knowing where our destiny lies
