FADING EMBERS.......
Once a flame that burned so bright, Now a flicker, in the dark of night. Our love, a fire, that's lost its way, Slowly dwindling, day by day. We used to talk, for hours on end, Now silence grows, and words offend. The laughter's gone, the tears remain, Our love's a shadow, of what it once sustained. We try to hold, on to what's left, But it slips away, like sand in our breath. The memories linger, of what we had, But the present's hollow, and the future's sad. We're two souls, drifting apart, Like autumn leaves, that lose their heart. The love we had, is fading fast, Leaving only, a lingering past.
