Fading Echoes
As i walk down through the shattered road of memory lane There's nothing else but those portraits of the people i knew, looking at me in pain They looked at me like i was somehow the villain of their story I looked at them with narrowed eyes, for i was never sorry I too was a victim of my own crimes For the poet i knew in myself no longer rhymes I watched those passions fall beneath my hands As i ponder on something that fails to stand Sparks no longer blew like fireworks who gave everlasting euphoria Portrait after portrait, i left them all in historia For i could not agree in the notion of giving and taking It was like an endless cycle that my pride cannot partake in So i wandered on my own, thinking that there was nowhere home Lost an honorable crown, lost the golden throne So there i was lingering like a dying soul, drowning on my malice Gradually fading away without a title, drinking my crimson blood in the broken chalice
