Faded Melodies
I sit alone before the piano, fingers tracing the ghost of melodies on keys that wait in silent defiance. It feels as if I’ve been here before— staring at notes I dare not play, their silent song aching to escape, but trapped in the shadows of my silence. The music in my mind rushes, relentless, a symphony untamed, yet my hands remain still, the courage to release it lost somewhere in the cacophony of my doubt. I stare until the notes blur, until my thoughts dissolve into quiet chaos. The mirror catches me then— a fractured reflection, stone-eyed, hollow. I was never meant for this, I whisper to the silence. Never meant to be truly happy.
