Facets
A quarter of century And I’ve seen so many faces, Like canvases of love and war. Some have permanent blemishes, Most have invisible scars. Each lines and traces Marks and concealers, Make ups and masks, Overlapping, Interweaving, Depicting stories Of love And loss. I’ve seen so many faces And yet I’ve never seen mine, Maybe only in mirrors And photographs Where you are required to smile Or portray something You want others to see, Something you want to look at In a frame. I wonder how I look like When I’m with my friends And my jaw is hurting Because of too much laughter, And how I look like When I’m all alone Thinking, Or crying, And there’s no one else in the room But darkness, blending with my face Like the negatives of a film. ©reddragonfly
