Eyes of warmth
Hey little one… can you sit down for a bit? The one with sparkling eyes looked at me. Her smile widened as I patted her head. “Can I tell you something about us?” She nodded, like her whole world was me. I know you always wanted to be happy… To always be with our mom and dad… Friends who would be like your diaries… To achieve everything your heart demanded… To always stay childish — like how you cling to mom’s dress now. But I’m so sorry, my dear… It changed a lot. As I stopped my words, her small hand reached for me. With misty eyes, she hugged me tight. “I know you tried… I know you cared. I know you listened… I know you loved. I’m never angry at you and I will always listen.” Her little voice wrapped around me like a ray of warmth on a cold, broken heart. “I’m always with you…whoever you are.” She said, with eyes of warmth and somewhere, that was all I ever wanted
