Exquisite Beauty & Strangeness
There is no exquisite beauty without some strangeness-- Edgar Allen Poe. And verily so, I must agree How strange is the Moon that hangs in the darkness of the sky in the midst of the stars? That controls the tide, and keeps us grounded How strange is the mighty oak? That grows upon the hill- Never moving for hundreds of years But releases oxygen that deep inside our lungs fill... How strange is art of osmosis? or the intricacies of human conception? Or the brain and how it retains memories and it's recollection? There is beauty in all that's odd sensation in everything strange uniqueness is the unusual-- and the most exquisite beauty of them all, the YOU that is unique. Thus, I find that Edgar's observation, is very true indeed... Without some degree of strangeness, true beauty would go unseen.
