Expectation vs Reality

The man dressed in black dedicated himself to his cause, striving to lead with a compassionate heart and an enlightened mind. However, he was constantly belittled and treated with disrespect, to the extent that any act of kindness on his part was disregarded and taken for granted. He endured being berated, mistreated, and demeaned, which eventually led him into a profound state of depression and sorrow. Throughout the years, he struggled internally and externally, constantly criticizing himself. Eventually, he reached a breaking point and confronted her, expressing that she was incapable of recognizing true love even if it hit her like a blunt force. He accused her of disregarding him, being unfaithful, and lying, using him just like everyone else, without appreciating his efforts. Nothing he ever did seemed to be sufficient for her, and his actions held no value in her eyes. And what did she do? She callously discarded him multiple times, solely for her own benefit. Therefore, he no longer cares about her feelings and refuses to entertain her pleas for reconciliation. He had let his guard down, only for her to repeatedly disrespect him and completely disregard his emotions.
