Everthing went black
"A loud, insistent knock at the door made us jump out of our skin, our hearts racing like they were about to explode. Boom-boom-boom! The knock came again, louder than before. I was drowning in my thoughts, terror-filled questions swirling in my mind. I glanced at my wife, her face pale and her eyes wide open, aggressively glaring at me to do something. I didn't want her to think I was a scared little boy hiding behind my physique, so I forced myself to act. I begged my trembling bones to relax and allow me to move closer to the door, but my thoughts were getting louder, louder than the knock. I managed to light a candle and made my way downstairs, my two husky dogs frozen in fear beside me, their sharp blue eyes glowing in the dark. I could see they were terrified too. I grabbed a spray gun, ready to defend myself, and approached the front door. That's when I saw him - a plump, blind man with blood crawling down his eyes, a strange smile spreading across his face. I shouted, 'Hey, man, get out of my front porch, or I'll call the authorities!' He glanced towards the kitchen window, as if he could see me, and then everything went black."
