Eternal Sky
What is the sky? Most of the time as we look up we see the blue ceiling of our earthen home. A supposed reflection of the ocean’s hue. On stormy days can we still see the sky? Are the clouds part of the sky? Or are they visitors? Grumbling along as they travel to deliver their precipitous gifts. But at night, when light has faded, darkness shows us what day hides. One clear summer night as I sat in a field with my telescope I found myself looking at places in the sky where my bare eyes could see only darkness. But when magnified I was greeted by seemingly infinite galaxies. And I believed for one second that each galaxy was a soul waiting for us to join.
