ETERNAL LONGING
That's one of them, my love, this ache so deep, When from your warmth my lonely soul must creep, Each day without you feels so empty, bare, A hollow echo in the silent air. I thought that time would heal this wounded heart, That I could play my own resilient part, But nothing seems to fill the void you left, Of all my joy and happiness bereft. I struggle every moment to let go, Though reason tells me I should better know, For in my heart, I feel you're meant to stay, To walk beside me through both night and day. These trying times demand both hope and love, Like gentle guidance from the stars above, Without their light, no meaning can be found, Just empty silence, hollow, barren ground. The seasons come and go with steady pace, Each leaving but a faint and fleeting trace, Yet through it all, I hold this faith so true, That God will make all things work out for you. Perhaps there is a reason for this pain, Some greater purpose we might yet attain, A lesson learned through tears and lonely nights, That makes our future love burn ever bright. I see your face in every setting sun, Your memory when each new day's begun, In whispered winds, I hear you call my name, A constant flicker in love's lasting flame.
