etched into bone
if i could press myself into you deeper than skin, deeper than the hollow of breath, i'd leave my name in the marrow of your bones. i'd breathe into your hair until every strand remembers me, until the warmth of my lungs becomes the warmth of your sleep. you are the pulse i feel when my hands shake, the salt i taste when the night runs heavy, the scar i kiss without healing. even if your body drifts from mine, i will always know its gravity; the curve of your shoulder etched into my palms, the shape of your silence lodged under my ribs. and if there are a thousand worlds where i never touch you, this one is enough to love you raw, to love you ruin, to love you past the end of every universe.
