ESCHEW
In the first light of dawn, we find ourselves, Awakening to the hurt that still lingers, The quiet pain that shadows our hearts, Yet, like the sunrise, we stay. The soft glow of hope on the horizon, Promises that things will get better, That the warmth of love will return, We hold on, bathed in this tender light. Fear whispers in the morning mist, Of solitude, of new beginnings, Of paths unknown and untaken, But the dawn breaks, dispelling the darkness. Love, with its gentle touch, Covers our wounds, gives us strength, In its complexity, it teaches us to endure, To see beyond the nightโs trials. We search for the perfect dawn, Yet perfection is an illusion, Every morning carries its own beauty, And its own imperfections. Choosing to stay or to leave, Is like deciding to greet the day anew, A balance of pain and hope, fear and love, but what we don't see is that It is okay to start over, to seek a new sunrise. For in every new beginning, There is a promise of light, A chance to heal, to grow, To find peace and connection once more. To eschew the darkness, Is to welcome the dawn, To let go of what harm us, And embrace the hope of a new day.
