Endless Struggle
They say "it'll get better" with a smile, As if words alone could cure the trials. But life goes on, unyielding and harsh, Each day brings new wounds and deeper scars. For years I've held onto this hope, That things would improve and I could cope. But every day is a struggle to survive, And I'm tired of fighting just to stay alive. I've tried to find a reason to keep going, But every path I take is slow and evergoing. The weight I bear just gets heavier, And the future looks bleak and emptier. I've fought the urge to give up, to let go, But what's the point when I'm drowning in woe? I'm tempted to lay down on the interstate, And let the cars take me to my final fate. There's no flicker of hope that shines so bright, No light at the end of this endless night. I've come to realize the reality of false promises, So I'll no longer cling to hope that never nourishes. Instead, I'm trying to hold on, despite the pain it gives, And find a way to endure this endless struggle as it lives May 11th 2023
