Endless Descent
I close my eyes, and the world slips away, A whisper of air, a chill in my bones, The ground dissolves, no place to stay, I’m falling through echoes, through silence, alone. The sky above fades to ink-stained black, No stars to guide, no light to hold, A plunge into void, no turning back, As gravity’s grip takes a toll on my soul. Each breath is a prayer, each beat a cry, But the abyss is deaf to the sounds I make, No end in sight, no answers why, Just the endless fall, and the weight of my fate. The darkness wraps tight, a cold embrace, My heart beats wild, a frantic drum, Yet no ground meets me, no saving grace, Just the bottomless pit where I’ve succumbed.I wonder if this is the end I’ve sought, A spiral of dread, of fear and flight, But deeper still, I’m endlessly caught, In the nightmare of falling, with no end in sight.
