Encumbrance
I sit alone. Yet all those that bring me solace are near. Heavy are the shoulders that bear, Taut is the muscle that pulls, And drags along. The air is of sulphur, Sickening and thick , Each breath is a labor, Yet I breathe. The weight comes down, And down again, Crushing, Waiting for relief, Yet only more exertion is found, Should the day come that the ever increasing volume slows, I will add more with my own hands, Increasing the strain, To live in familiarity. Comfortability. Encumbrance.
