Empty Rooms
“Empty Rooms” I laugh in crowds, but cry alone, A haunted heart, a hollow tone. They see my smile, not my decay, They never ask if I'm okay. The stars don’t shine like they used to do, They flicker out—just like I do. I scream in silence, loud and deep, But no one hears—I'm lost in sleep. They walk right past, they never see, This shattered soul inside of me. I build my walls, I hide my scars, I wish on dying, distant stars. A thousand likes won’t fill this hole, They never touch my aching soul. They only care when it’s too late— They cry at graves, but not at fate. So here I float, a ghost in skin, A war outside, a war within. Don’t tell me “time will make it right,” I’ve lived through day, and died each night.
