Empty Noise
Empty Noise by Jack A.S. Dunce The noise outside is seeping through the walls; There seems to be a party going on, Or alley cats doing their mating calls -- A world again immersed in raucous noise, though everyone else is giving it voice. They seem to be rejoicing for someone Of great importance and bearing to all, Who won milk and honey for everyone. It seems the only reason they recall For giving him the title they bestowed, As if it is a duty they are owed. Everything is mere hoopla after all. The praises they sing, all just filller songs, A bunch of words strung together in scrawl To plug the awkward silence no one longs. Would someone throw the water in the vats, Shut up at once those noisy alley cats. --🏵️-- ©️pgmr 06/15/2025
