empty echos
I walk in shadows, cold and thin, No trace of warmth, no place to begin. I thought once that I could belong, But I was wrong, I was so wrong. The world spins on, but I stand still, A broken heart that time won’t heal. I reach for hands that aren't there, Just empty whispers in the air. Each smile, a mask I dare not wear, A hope that vanishes into despair. For I have learned, and I now see, That no one ever cared for me. Alone I stand, alone I’ll stay, Dreams of a better life decay. And every breath feels like a curse, The weight of knowing things won’t reverse. I scream inside, but no one hears, Drowning in a sea of silent fears. This is my life, an endless night, Where even hope has lost its fight.
