My heart bloomed soft, a red red rose, In quiet fields where no one knows. She fluttered in, a butterfly bright, And danced around me, full of light. My love, like honey, pure and deep, She sipped it all, made angels weep. Her wings were sweet, but never stayed, She drank my soul, then slipped to shade. Now petals fall in winds of pain, She’s gone, and I alone remain. A rose once full, now cold and bare, She flew away, and left me there.
