Embers.
I tire, my strength wanes Just as the last rays at twilight, my might called home I falter. Flicker. Fade. Blur. Wither. Cast to this chasm, this void of utter desolation they called life We are alone. Forsaken. Damned in this wretched world Nous sommes tous seuls. Ensemble, mais seuls. Age upon age man treads upon the earth The pain of birth to a life and death of injustice Granted to our poor finite mortal souls Our legacy since immemorial time A faint dancing flame in this dark abyss Is hope, which keeps our weary souls thirsting Well, well, such is this life we are sentenced to Shadows sprout at dawn, dance till dusk is nigh So then, must we not also not? In humble sufferance, embrace our fate, and dance as the shadows doth Nous étions seuls alors. Nous sommes seuls maintenant.
