Elegy of a Lost Love
Elegy of a Lost Love I see her like a dream slipping through my fingers, like mist that dawn dissolves without mercy. I hold her in my arms, yet only memory remains, for her soul no longer dwells in this reality. I search for her in the skies, in oceans and constellations, in every corner where her laughter used to shine. But the universe keeps silent before my pleas, and the echo of her name refuses to be found. Ah, how cruel was my fate, how blind my heart! I did not know how to love her essence, nor cherish her devotion. And as the old saying goes, so wise and sorrowful: no one values love… until they see it in farewell. My being is lost, wandering like a leaf in the wind, my chest an abyss without her gentle light. Her eyes were my beacon, her voice my melody, and now only the lament of my solitude remains. I close my eyes, begging time to return, but I find only shadows dragging me to the past. A cycle of sorrow wraps me without mercy, where every sigh becomes a verse of absence. And so, in my silence, I write verses to the wind, hoping one might reach her as she walks away. If the stars should hear my lament, let them tell her I still love her… though she may never return.
