Ego's plea
In shadows deep, where pain resides, My alter ego stirs and chides. A tempest brews within my core, A wounded heart, a raging roar. “Release me now!” it fiercely cries, “Let wrath and fury touch the skies. For someone dared to wound my soul, To break my spirit, take control.” I clasp my chest, my fingers ache, As anger’s flames begin to wake. My alter ego strains his chains, Desiring vengeance and retribution to rain. “Unleash me!” it implores, eyes wild, “Let loose the tempest, fierce and styled. I’ll burn this world, a storm unbound, And leave them trembling on the ground.” But reason whispers, soft and wise, “Patience, wounded heart, don’t rise. For anger’s fire consumes the host, And leaves behind a bitter ghost.” So I wrestle with this inner strife, Between the calm and raging life. My alter ego strains and pleads, While my wounded heart seeks gentler deeds. Yet deep within, the tempest brews, A battle threatening, old wounds to lose And in this struggle, I find my way, To heal, forgive, and let love sway. In whispered moments, shadows blend, My alter ego seeks to mend. Its fury wanes, a tempest’s sigh, As empathy begins to fly.
