Eclipsed love
Eclipsed love They run parallel in the sky, A silent longing between them. The Sun, with fierce heat, The Moon, with quiet, tender light— Two forces drawn, never meeting. The Sun burns bright through day, But falls away when night calls, While the Moon rises, soft and pale, Unable to reach the warmth of dawn. Their love is a silence full of longing, A longing that cannot be told, For one must wane as the other brightens, A silent ache that will not heal. The Sun, laden with its light, Grieves as it sinks below the horizon. The Moon rises, cold and aloof, Unable to give the heat it would impart. They are never together— Two souls bound together in their pain, Each longing for what the other can never give, Love which can never be.
