Echoes of You
The days of joy, the days of peace, Hearing her voice, all worries cease. Her voice, a song, a soothing sound, In her words, my peace was found. We met at dusk, just once in a while, Her eyes would shine, her lips would smile. A fleeting touch, a hand in mine, An awkward pause in borrowed time. But love was cruel, it chose its way, Turning bright skies cold and gray. She walked ahead, I stayed behind, With empty hands and shattered mind. Now stars still shine but lost their glow, The nights feel long, the winds still blow. A world once warm now draped in scars, A sky once bright, now lost its spark. And so I stay awake and watch the sky, As lonely tears begin to dry. Though she is gone, my heart still stays, Trapped in the past, in golden days.
