Echoes of What Was
The overthinker, now a shadowed mind, Once sparked with laughter, joy of a lighter kind. The ice, a frozen, unforgiving glaze, Remembers warmth, its water-flowing days. The average student, lost within the gray, Once shone so brightly, leading every way. The heartless one, a hollow, empty shell, Recalls a kindness, known and loved so well. The evil face, where darkness now resides, Was once an angel, where pure light abides. And anger's flame, consuming all it finds, Was once a gentle love, that soothed and binds. The depressed soul, now burdened, cold, and slow, Once walked with ease, a carefree, vibrant glow. Oh, everything, so beautiful and bright, Was whole and lovely, before it broke the light.
