Echoes of the sparrow
In my orchard, once again I see, A sparrow perched with wings so light, As apple trees bloom, wild and free, Their white flowers shining bright. A feeling stirs deep in my chest, After so many years, it calls, The joy of youth, the sweetest rest, Where silence in the garden falls. Gloom fades away in your soft song, Though you fly alone in the air, And thoughts of her, they linger long, For her absence feels so unfair. If only she were here with you, We’d share the stories left untold, But time has torn our hearts in two, And I’m left with memories cold. Yet in this moment, pure and clear, You bring the joy that she once gave, A goddess of poetry, dear, For love’s lost, but not the brave. In the fleeting moments, hearts may roam, But strength is found when we are alone.
