Echoes of the City
Once, this city was my own, Every street and corner felt like home. And you, a stranger passing by, With a fleeting glance, a curious eye. When you became mine, heart and soul, The city's charm lost its role. Familiar places turned cold and strange, Our love changed the city's range. Now, neither are you mine, nor is this place, A familiar city, now a foreign space. I long to return to simpler days, When every street spoke in familiar ways. I remember the laughter, the endless walks, The whispered secrets, the midnight talks. The city was alive, with vibrant hues, When life felt fresh, and full of views. But now, the echoes of our past, Haunt the streets where shadows are cast. I yearn for the time when the city was more, When you were a stranger, and life felt sure. In the city's embrace, where memories reside, Where you were a mystery, and I had nothing to hide. Let me return to those moments so dear, When the city was ours, and everything was clear.
