Echoes of Solitude
I'm a shadow in the sunlight Alone in my cornered sky They wander in, colors bright Then vanish, waving goodbye A sequence, predictable flair Hearts cross paths like fleeting birds My heart, an empty plain, bare Love crumbles with whispered words It's me, I guess, unfixed, flawed Yet, every time, always my blame Not enough— can't hold, can't draw Finds me cold, leaving the same Oh, it's quite lonely this path Souls brushed past, wove fragile lines Fingers touch, but never last Time curls dry in parched confines Maybe I don't know the trick Gems I touch fade to pale sand My heart aches, utmost desolate A history scribbled by hand Notice me, yet quick to flee Neither roots nor wings we grow Definitions of 'we', slip-free Lost in fear, I let them go They seek peace— find turbulence And glass shards on muted ground Whispers of 'us' bear no sense In this void where truth's unbound Here I linger, breathe in sighs A heavy heart, silenced song Don't know why love defies Solitude echoes too strong
