Echoes of pain
Memories of childhood, tainted by fear A sense of safety, lost forever, it seems clear A bond of innocence, brutally undone, leaving only pain The echoes of that day, still linger in my mind A constant reminder, of the trauma left behind Trust shattered, like fallen leaves Leaving only shadows, where love and joy once breathed But even in darkness, a spark remains A flame of resilience, that flickers through the pain A voice that whispers, "You are not alone" A promise of healing, that will one day be known Justice for Cwecwe, I was 6 and she was only 7 May our voices rise, and our message be clear No more silence, no more shame Only justice, and a world where love and respect reign May the memories of that day, no longer hold us captive May we find solace, in the power of our collective voice And may justice be served, for all those who've been harmed So that healing can begin, and love can once again be formed.
