Echoes of Love
Echoes of love: At sixteen, I found love so true, In a world where pain was all I knew. You were my escape, my safe place, In your arms, I found peace and grace. We'd drive to your gramas, windows down, Country tunes playing, no worries around. You taught me to drive, gave me the wheel, In those moments, I felt so real. But distance grew, and hearts did break, You cheated, and my world did shake. Still, memories of freedom, love, and light, Kept me going through the darkest night. Home wasn't safe, with stepdad's rage, You were my refuge, my teenage stage. Yet, life pulled us apart, and I had to go, Leaving behind the only love I'd known. Years passed, and I searched in vain, For that pure love to ease my pain. Three kids later, still feeling lost, Until Derek came, at a heavy cost. He made me feel loved, cherished, safe once more, But fear of past hurts, left my heart sore. I broke his heart, time and again, Yet here we are, trying to mend the pain. In love's journey, I've learned and grown, From a broken heart, seeds are sown. Though scars remain, hope does too, For love that's pure, and always true. In our love we trust forever me & you!
