ECHOES OF INNOCENCE
In carefree days of playtime, I'd dance and play, Untroubled mind, no worries to sway. Laughter echoed, smiles lit up the way, As innocence wrapped me in its gentle ray. I miss the simplicity, the joy so true, When life's complexities weren't yet in view. No deadlines loomed, no stress to abide, Just freedom's thrill, with heart full of pride. Memories linger, whispers of the past, When imagination knew no bounds at last. Toys and games, friends and endless fun, A world of wonder, where dreams were won. In childhood's garden, wildflowers bloomed, Unfettered joy, in every room. No shadows fell, no fears to face, Just sunshine's warmth, in a peaceful place. Now, as I wander through life's maze, I yearn for innocence's gentle ways. The weight of responsibility bears down, And nostalgia's bittersweet crown. Yet, in memories, I find solace still, A refuge from life's turbulent will. Though childhood's gone, its essence remains, A bittersweet reminder of life's sweet refrains. In dreams, I see myself, young and free, A smile unfurls, wild and carefree. Though time marches on, and I grow old, Childhood's magic stays, forever to hold.
