Echoes of Flesh
Fear arrives early, but doesn’t leave. A scream turned inward, until made shape. You learn to flinch before anything moves. Falling, into a wound, you forgot was open. Numbness swells, then guilt pours in, like a thick fog settling, slowly suffocating. Your skin remembers, even when you try to forget. Calm holds its breath, knowing the storm will break soon. Whispers linger where skin once broke. A line, of time and pain, etched into skin. Shadows will trace the scars that time forgot. I am a mouth that cannot speak, a grave that cannot close, a memory trapped Inside a body that will never die.
