Echoes of a Loveless Grave
In the twilight where shadows creep, I wandered alone, where the cold winds weep. A heart forged in iron, immune to desire, I walked the earth with a soul void of fire.Love was a folly, a myth of the weak, A lie whispered by those who sought what they could not keep. I scoffed at the dreamers, their hearts on their sleeves, For I was untouchable, free from love’s thieves. But then you appeared, like a specter in the mist, A haunting presence I could not resist. Your eyes, like abyssal pools, drew me near, And for the first time, I felt a pang of fear.I fought the tide, I clawed at the night, But your voice, your touch, they blotted out the light. I tumbled, I spiraled, lost in your spell, And in that descent, I knew I’d fallen to hell. For what is love but a cruel jest? A fleeting fire that leaves us bereft. Yet I, the unbeliever, had dared to embrace, The warmth of your lies, the touch of your grace. But love, it seems, is a twisted game, Where the victor is crowned by another’s shame. You smiled as you danced with my mortal foe, And left me to rot in the shadows below.I watched as you drifted, hand in hand, With the very one who sought my end. And I, the fool, was left in the wake, Of a love that was just a lie.
