"Echoes of a Father’s Love”
For a long time, I didn’t want to forgive the past, for the wounds were many. As time passed, I longed for your smile, your hugs, your words of encouragement. But the wind took away my wishes, and I didn’t know how to walk without getting lost in the pain I felt. To the world, I shouted that my father was the best, but in my heart, the pain was deep. Father, father, what do I do for you to see me? I asked in the solitude of my cold sadness. Over time, I learned that your love did exist, although for unknown reasons, you hid it. Cold nights, storms of the heart; their coldness forged me to be the father I am now. Always constant, I advise my children, keeping intact the image of my own father. Time moves on, and the footprints of my steps gradually fade, and all memories change. I no longer remember the bad times or the sadness; now I know that what I lived through gave me strength. I wanted to be an example of a good son, and I succeeded. Perhaps you realized my effort late, but in the end, in your eyes, I saw the fatherly love I always desired. In the love you gave to my children, with a joyful heart, I saw that what I lacked, they had in abundance.
