Echoes in Silence
I sit in stillness, thoughts adrift, Winds of pain through silence lift. Words collide like skies and seas, A soul in turmoil, seeking peace. Echoes roar inside my chest, A lion mourning, lost—unrest. No one hears, no hearts respond, To pain too deep, to cries too fond. Women, daughters of the day, Chasing gold, lose their way. Blindfolded by wealth’s cruel glare, They trade love for empty air. Mature minds stand unseen, unheard, While sweet lies cloak the truth in words. And boys, once kind, now coldly stray, Leaving scars they won’t repay. Some use love for darker gain, Rituals carved from secret pain. Girls, too young, too far from care, Caught in traps laid unaware. They dive for coins like fish for streams, Not knowing cost, not seeing dreams. Reflecting shame in hurried eyes, Breaking hearts and parent ties. O youth, O daughters, sons so lost, Count the ache, the silent cost. Our names, our hopes, our family pride— All dimmed beneath the shame we hide.
