Echoes against a Sealed Door
Behold a loud knock at the door With a loud voice, your name I call Each bridge I build collapses in the void, Your silence speaks, the sound I can’t avoid. For so long, I’ve walked in this agony, Chasing after the wind that slips through my hands. My spirit rebels against my own desires, While I manifest your greetings with shoulders of frost. Marked as a shadow in the crowd of men, You refuse to read the storm hidden in my eyes. Yet when I rise to break free from the script you wrote for me, Fate’s fierce wind drags me back into your disbelief. The wounds he left upon your heart Have cast me into his shadowed blame. My purest feelings drown in suspicion, My voice unheard, my soul unseen. The door of my heart stands wide open, Yet yours is sealed with the strongest lock. Why must your spirit shut mine away? Why can’t our souls entwine as one? This prison of solitude consumes me whole, And only your love can set me free. Your refusal sharpens my chains of grief, Yet the remedy lies in the flood of your love.
