ECHO OF YOU.
I keep trying to find you in someone new, Your smile, your kindness, your face I knew. But every look is just a blur, And every laugh reminds me of you. I search in people, quiet and loud, In warm smiles and eyes in the crowd. But no one feels the way you did... They only wear your look, partially hidden. No hand feels right the way yours did, No words bring back the way we were. I say our jokes into the air, And wait, like you might still be there. You’re gone, but somehow still so near, Like a song I still can hear. I chase what’s left of me and you, But find only pieces, never the truth. by Susan.
