Echo of Empty Words
You say you know the pain I bear, But how could you when you don’t care? Your words, they cut like a jagged blade, A shallow echo in the dark I’ve made. You wear a mask of hollow grace, Pretending you can see this place, But you don’t know the nights I’ve cried, Or how I’ve died, and died, and died. The fear that coils around my heart, You don’t feel it tear me apart. You laugh, you judge, you turn away, Leaving me in this endless fray.Your jokes are knives, your words are chains, Binding me in unseen pains. You claim to know, to understand, But you’ve never walked this haunted land. You don’t see the ghosts that haunt my dreams, Or hear my silent, broken screams. You don’t feel the weight of shame, Or the fire that scorches my name.Your empathy’s a cruel disguise, A veil to hide your empty lies. You say, “I know,” with hollow breath, But you’ve never danced with death. So spare me your pity, your empty lines, Keep your comfort, and your twisted signs. For in this darkness, I stand alone, In a world that’s cold, hard as stone. You’ll never know the depth of fear, Or the silent screams no one can hear. So take your words, your cruel charade, And leave me in the night you’ve made.
