DYNAMO
Guys would come in with fire, attention, affection, promises, sweet words, even gifts. And just when I’d start to believe in it, they’d pull away. I began to wonder what I had done wrong. I’d check myself over and over. Maybe I talked too much. Maybe I didn’t smell good enough or look good enough. Maybe I asked for too much, laughed too loudly, or I just was too much. But now I know it was never about me. It was about their inability to handle my wholeness. My strength, independence, authenticity and perfection intimidated them. After all these years I’ve learned to stand taller, to see my worth, and to value my wholeness as a strength, not a liability. I’m unapologetically myself. I no longer shrink to fit into anyone’s smallness. I’m free to be, to grow, and to thrive on my own terms. My wholeness is my power. It's left for them to fit in. WORDSELLA
