Dying to Live
In the heart of North Manchester, on a cold wintry day, a small, sickly woman shivered as she huddled in a dark alleyway. The harsh wind cut through her thin layers of clothing, sending tremors down her fragile frame. Her name was Emily, a 41-year-old who had been battling a rare disease for years. Abandoned by everyone she once knew, she found herself alone on the streets, fighting a losing battle for survival. As she lay there, struggling to stay conscious, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was a grotesque figure, cloaked in darkness, with piercing eyes that seemed to glow in the dim light. Emily's heart raced with fear as the figure approached her, its footsteps echoing in the eerie silence of the alley. "Please," Emily whispered hoarsely, her voice barely a rasp. "I don't want to die." But the figure said nothing as it raised a hand towards her. A cold chill ran down Emily's spine as she realized the figure's true intentions. With a sudden, swift motion, it plunged a gleaming blade into Emily's chest. The pain was excruciating, more intense than anything Emily had ever experienced. She gasped for breath, her eyes wide with terror as the figure leaned in close, its face contorted into a cruel smile.
