Drowning in Silence
In the depths where light can’t shine, My happiness drifts, just out of line, Loving memories swallowed by the sea, As I drown, burdened by all I carry. A sister’s world, fragile and bright, A grandma’s wisdom, fading with night, A father’s absent, a mother’s flight, A best friend’s loss, a heart’s heavy plight. Pushing others up, while I sink down, The weight of their worlds make me drown, Striving a future, unclear, unknown, Questioning each step, feeling alone. Silenced by thoughts, amidst the screams, A mind that whispers I’m not enough, it seems, Tired, yet moving, dad by day, Must keep going, come what may. Dreams washed away by the relentless tide, Hopes and fears, nowhere to hide, A heavy heart with unspoken pain, Yet, I rise again and again. Each breathe a struggle, each moment a fight, In the depths, I search for light, The water’s grip, cold and tight, But I push forward, with all my might. The sea of doubt, deep and wide, Pulls me under, tries to hide, The strength within, the will to survive. To break the surface, to feel alive. Tired, yet moving, day by day, Must keep going, come what may, Tired, yet moving, day by day, Must keep going, come what may.
