Drip-Drop-
A single glistening bead, silver and round, slides from a leaf's curled lip, trembles, clings, then loses its grip, Drip- It falls through the hush, slow and deep, a note of lullaby, in a world of silent slumber, Drop- It splashes with a plop, on brown earthen towers, Waking the ants, from their dark, dreary hours, Drip- Hundreds of towers fall, an army's prowess mocked, they may seeth in angst, but even the fumes turn misty, Drop- The world is drowsy, heavy, still. Drop- Let the rain lull, let the night fill.
