drifting apart

day by day i watch you as you drift away carried by the waves of your own doubt shadow grows over your heart inch by inch as you close your eyes in sight of the light words are heavy as you cant utter a sound you look at me but see only a stranger the weight of discontent pressing over you as you hold on to what you think is right as the silence slowly creeps between us we stop trying to conceal it from the world who was to blame, i cant even remember what comfort should i find in that? when the only one i loved cares not anymore only the bitter taste of loss still remains
