DREAMS
saw you once or maybe I just dreamed it, your face half clear, half gone like something I was trying not to lose. You said my name like you’d said it before, soft, careless— like it already belonged to you. I don’t remember everything, just the feeling— like I was somewhere I wasn’t lonely for the first time in a while. Then I woke up, and it felt stupid how real it stayed. All day I kept thinking I’d see you again— in a crowd, on a street, in someone who almost looked like you. But it was just me holding onto something that never really happened, except it did— just not here. -H.Rose
